Over Twenty Years of Intellectual Property Experience & Excellence

Pnc IP Group About Us patent trademark

PNC IP Group has always believed in fostering creativity, not just in our clients, but in ourselves.

In the early 2000s, Patent and Trademark Agencies and Intellectual Property Law Firms were very different than today – everything was still paper-based and courier-driven, computer networks (in law offices) and mainstream commercial Internet were in their infancy, and clients absorbed overhead costs for everything ranging from facsimiles to postage to off-site paper file storage.

Ask anyone old enough and they’ll tell you it was a very different world – access to intellectual property was slow, bulky, and very expensive.

We changed that.

We were Canada’s first Patent and Trademark Agency and Intellectual Property Law Firm to be completely paperless.

We got rid of punitive overhead fees charged by traditional law firms.

We hosted our own computer network and offered clients electronic file access.

We used fingerprint recognition and offered clients encrypted and truly confidential e-mail (using Pretty Good Privacy – PGP – encryption).

Pnc IP Group has always been client-based – our objective is to obtain customized solutions meeting each individual’s need.

Pnc IP Group believes in bringing options to clients so as to achieve desired outcomes by any differing number of measures.

Also, Pnc IP Group offers alternatives to conventional billing practices, such as our pioneering flat-rate in-house counsel program for qualified businesses.

Our in-house counsel program allowed established businesses to have unlimited access to a federally licensed Patent and Trademark Agency, and provincially licensed Law Firm, without breaking their budget.

The Pnc IP Group in-house counsel program allows clients to pursue and develop their intellectual property portfolios with costs that are always fixed, predictable, affordable, and at a fraction of what a full-time equivalent licensed employee would have cost.

And of course, we have always proudly offered daytime, evening, and weekend meetings and phone calls, to accommodate a client’s busy schedule.

Today, Pnc IP Group has represented more than four hundred individuals and businesses from both Canada and abroad, and managed intellectual property portfolios on six of seven continents – Antarctica remains our final domino.

Learn more about us by learning about our client’s success stories.

We still proudly offer in-person meetings upon request, and always welcome your questions.
